There are some changes coming in 2017…one of them is my new sales podcast on Soundcloud and itunes.
Hey, good morning guys. It’s Grant here. I’m down in one of my favorite parts of the world. It’s a little windy. I’m down here this morning, so I’ll do my best to keep the microphone well protected. So, this is where I live. I’m about 40 seconds from the front door of my house. As you can see today, I don’t know if you can see it or not, but there’s a whole bunch of snow on the mountain, but it’s still pretty sunny down here, but that’s not what I’m here for. I’m not here to talk to you about the news, sport, and weather today. Well, maybe the news.
Today what I want to let you know is there is a new thing happening. There is a new season happening. You guys have been tuning in. Thank you so much to all of my content for so long now, but I’ve got some changes happening, because I can’t do the same thing forever and ever, and I’m so grateful that my business is growing and my clients are growing, my reach is growing, and I’ve got to find a way, in many ways, to reach a whole bunch of new people in a whole new way. So, in 2017, I did a little video yesterday and I talked to you about some changes that are coming in 2017. Some of the things I’m doing differently. There’s a link below in the title of this video, and what I’m doing now, every week on a Tuesday, I’m coming to you for 20 minutes on a sales podcast every week, and we’re going to be building up a whole stack of really cool content over the next year or however long I decide to do it for. It’ll be probably longer than a year.
Every Tuesday for 20 minutes, there’s going to be a laser focus on sales. I’d love for you now—you’ve been following my stuff for a while, you’ve been listening to me, watching my videos, liking, sharing, commenting. Some of them have had 2,500, some of them have had 20,000 likes, and some of them had five, but guys, I’m so grateful for all of the likes and all of the shares and all of the loves. I think I’m going to nick down here for a second. I want to show you guys the view down here. Go ahead please and subscribe to my sales podcast. I’d love for you to be a part of this next season, this next journey. Let me show you this. This is a little sandstone outcrop down here. Absolutely gorgeous. Look at this view. People say to me, why do live in Tasmania? Why not live in Sydney? Why not live in Melbourne? Why not live in Perth? Why not live in other places? Well, I tell you, I lived in Melbourne for 30 years of my life. I’m 44 at the end of this year, 44 in December, and I moved down to Tasmania when I was 30 years old. I’ve had plenty of chances to move back to Melbourne. I’ve had plenty of business opportunities to go live in Brisbane and plenty of chances to go live on the Gold Coast and other places.
There is nowhere on the planet more beautiful than where I live, and I choose to do my business, which is worldwide, a worldwide sales company, a worldwide consulting business, where I work from my home on the river in the most beautiful, clean, fresh air with no traffic, no graffiti, very, very little crime. It’s petty, petty crime if there is any, and I live here in this beautiful place with some amazing people. I want you guys to be a part of that journey as well. So, go ahead and subscribe to my sales podcast. The link is below. There’s also some new thoughts coming up in the business for next year. There’s going to be some rankings and ratings that I’ll be giving out to businesses in the new year and it’s a 4A concept. I’m just going to say hello to some people that are walking along the track here. Good morning, guys. How are you? Beautiful day, isn’t it? There we go. I love Tassie. So, there’s a 4A concept coming up, and I’m going to be grading businesses, rating businesses, and ranking businesses based on a 4A scale, and the first A that I’m going to be ranking businesses on is attention. How is the business grabbing attention? Are they good at, capable at, skilled at, tooled up at, and in fact, using modern tools, modern techniques and modern strategies. So, they’ve got puddles down here. I’m going to step over. It’s been raining a lot.
Using modern tools, modern strategies, modern techniques, new stuff, not outdated, not outmoded, and not daggy, but cool, up-to-date attention grabbing strategies to remove the need for excuses in their business. What I don’t want to hear in 2017, what I’m putting my foot down against, and this is for all businesses, I don’t want to hear any more excuses from businesses. If I hear one more person blame the economy, one more person blame a politician, one more person blame the weather, one more person blame high fuel prices, I will probably go postal. Now, I don’t want to do that and nobody wants me to do that, and certainly nobody wants to see my get pissed off at anyone. You’ll want to see me help people, and that’s what I want to do. So, attention is how I’m going to be grading businesses. That’s the first A. The second A is attraction. After you’ve got the attention of people, how are you attracting them into your product, into your service, into your business? Do you have an effective attraction strategy because you can get attention easily? I’m getting attention right now from people that are watching this short video.
You can get attention in a healthy way. You can get attention in an unhealthy way. Also, you can attract people in a healthy way or you can put people off as well. The third A that I’ll be judging businesses on, and by the way, you might be asking, how on Earth, Grant, are you qualified to judge businesses? Well, let me tell you, I’ve been helping businesses for an awfully long time. I’ve been coaching and consulting businesses for an awfully long time. I’ve written enough books on this and not read enough books, but I’ve written enough books, enough articles, constructed enough videos, enough content, and helped enough people to turn their business from struggling into millions and millions of dollars, helping people to win Telstra business awards, helping people to get ahead, helping people to become leaders. So, I am qualified to judge these businesses, which I’ll be doing in 2017. So, the third A criteria that’ll get you up to your third A is application. What sort of portal do you have, what sort of sales strategy do you have so that people can apply to your business or apply what you sell to their lives in a way that simplifies their life and doesn’t complicate it?
How is your product, your service, or your offering making the world a better place, making people’s lives a better place? The fourth A is association. How is your product, your service, your business, and what you have, able to become bigger than you and grow without you being in it and without needing it to rely solely on you? One of the biggest problems we have in business in Australia, whether you’re in corporate, whether you’re in retail, whether you’re in SME, whether you’re in service, it doesn’t matter, the biggest problem that you’ve got is the business relies on you too heavily. So, to get a 4A rating, you’re going to need to be amazing at attention, attraction, application, and association, and if you don’t know how to do those things, I’ll be helping you throughout the year. So, click onto my sales podcast. That’s where I’ll be teaching you the basic strategies for this. I’d love for you to be a part of it.
If you’ve got any questions or comments, shoot below. Go ahead and ask me questions, comments. I see there’s a whole bunch of you on there. I can’t really see the screen properly because of the glare, but thanks very much for being a part of this. It’s so windy down here. I don’t know if you can hear the blow in the microphone, but it’s really annoying. So, I’m going to go. God bless you all. Sell with courage. Talk soon.
